How this works

About once a month a crawler visits the homepage of each site and requests a fixed list of well-known paths, such as /llms.txt, /.well-known/agent-card.json and /mcp. It also reads the homepage's Link headers, <link> tags and JSON-LD.

A protocol only counts as adopted when the response has the structure the protocol expects. Many sites answer every URL with their normal web page; the crawler detects these catch-all pages, compares against a random URL on the same site, and ignores them. Empty indexes and placeholder files are shown separately.

The crawler identifies itself as agent-protocols-discovery/0.1, makes one request at a time per site and respects robots.txt. Some sites block automated requests, so their adoption may be undercounted; those cells are marked "not checked".
